About the full-year Hijri calendar
The Hijri calendar is purely lunar: twelve lunar months totalling about 354 days, eleven days shorter than the Gregorian year. Its months therefore never settle into a season — they travel through all of them and return to where they started after roughly thirty-three years.
This page lays out a complete Hijri year: all twelve months, every day set against its Gregorian date, and the weekday for each. Fridays are marked in a different colour and today is ringed in gold so you can find it at a glance. Move between years with the previous and next buttons or by typing a year directly; your choice is kept in the address so you can share the exact view.
At the top sits the occasions table: the Islamic New Year, Ashura, Mawlid al-Nabi, the first of Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, the Day of Arafah and Eid al-Adha — each with its Hijri and Gregorian date and the weekday it falls on.
The print button produces a clean sheet: white background, three columns, no controls — suitable for a wall or a file. Month lengths follow the tabular Hijri calendar, alternating between twenty-nine and thirty days with the lunar cycle.
